February half term success and forthcoming Easter activities

Well a lot has happened since i last blogged.

The Stray FM give away the week before half term was a great success. I hope you managed to hear Alex Cann give us a shout out every day and have seen the photos on the Stray FM website of when Alex visited the shop.

Half term was full of creativity and fun. Everyone that came through the door produced some lovely toe bags, t-shirts, owl cuddly toys, brooches, embroidered doodles and colourful money boxes. It was nice to see a lot of new faces due to Stray FM as well as my regulars.

Stray FM give away

I've had an exciting week. On Friday i met Alex Cann from Stray Fm. He popped in for a coffee and a look around the shop to get a feel for what we do. All this week we are being mentioned throughout the day on the radio and giving away a prize during the afternoon show. Listen out for the competition.

Again another busy week for workshops and children's parties. Harriott and Beth both enjoyed their birthday parties making an owl cuddly toy and decorating a tote bag.

Full Week of Workshops

Last week was a busy and fun week. On Wednesday night we had our second Quilting and Patchwork session which was very exciting. I was so impressed at how the ladies had gone away and practiced the techniques during the week. Tonight is the final session so by 9pm this evening we should have 3 bags and a table runner made.

On Thursday I taught an Introduction to the Sewing Machine class to two students who wanted a quick recap on how to use the machine. They both went away full of enthusiasm - good job done.

Facebook Competition and Advertising on Stray FM

As you may be aware we have been running a Facebook competition all week to win a free crafty workshop. I have just drawn the winner – congratulations to Faye Sadler who won a free workshop.

Other news this week – we had a birthday party on Saturday in the shop. Happy Birthday once again to Olivia. You and your friends made some beautiful mosaic tiles.

Back from Holiday

After a much deserved break we are open as  normal from tomorrow. Looking forward to the week ahead. I have three lovely ladies booked onto our quilting and patchwork workshop on Wednesday and bookings for our first Teenagers Club on Friday night and Children's Sewing Club on Saturday morning. We also have a mosaic tile Birthday party booked  on Saturday - ooh so excited.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all. I have a feeling 2014 is going to be a good one.

Well now that Christmas and New Year are over, it's time to think about the year ahead and consider making changes and starting something new.

I always make a few New Year resolutions but find it hard sticking to them. This year it's going to be different as i am making them for the business.

The run up to Christmas

Were in mid December and everyone is busy running around getting Christmas presents and stocking up on lovely food. Just to let you know we have a range of gift ideas including cushions, craft kits, sewing accessories and stocking fillers such as keyrings and brooches. Still not sure what to get then why not buy a gift vouchers which can be used for one of our workshops or afternoon teas.

Where has the time gone!

I can't believe it is nearly December. We have now been open nearly 3 months. The time has just flown by. We have 8 birthday parties each doing a mixture of craft activities from soap making, to owl cuddle toys, fabric painting and tote bag making. Each party has been so much fun, can't wait to do some more.

Our adult workshops have also be very popular, especially our owl cushion, fabric notebook cover, bunting and introduction to tailoring classes. I am taking all your suggestions on board so please let me know if you are keen to learn something new.

First Birthday Party in the Cafe

Last night we had our first birthday party in the cafe. We all had fun designing and making a colourful tote bag. Happy 13th birthday Anna.

Food Standard Agency - Awarded 5 Stars

Thought this deserved a post of its own. We were visited by the Food Standard Agency on Wednesday and were award a hygiene rating of 5. So happy.
